The Gallia County Hike and Bike Trail is a 7.8-mile rail-to-trail from Gallipolis north to Bidwell with a gap.
Beginning at Mill Creek Road, the trail begins at a former bridge overpass that has since been filled in and proceeds westward towards the former freight station.

The trail curves northward towards a wye that fed into downtown, which is now a side trail that ends at a local residential street. Continuing northward, the rail-to-trail crosses Little Chickamaunga Creek and Chickamaunga Creek before entering Spring Valley

The trail crosses OH 160/Jackson Pike twice, once at a signalized intersection that is optimized for cyclists and the other at an at-grade intersection before ending just north of the US 35 freeway overpass.

North of Kerr to Bidwell, the trail is gravel but overgrown with grass.

The trail will eventually stretch for 28 miles from Gallipolis north towards Logan.

Directions
The southern trailhead for the first 4.5-mile segment is located at Mill Creek Road at Haskins Memorial Park in Gallipolis, Ohio and ends essentially at OH 160/Jackson Pike at the US 35 freeway. The second section begins at Kerr Road in Kerr and continues northward to OH 554 in Bidwell.
