This Carpenter’s Run loop is open to hikers and horseback riders only at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park. This relatively new 6.75-mile trail connects to the Michael Tygart Loop Trail and follows forest ridge lines and descends to the lake level. Several scenic views of Greenbo Lake and the dam are visible. The E. Stevens shelter is located at an overlook of the lake.

From US 23, take KY 1 south of Greenup for eight miles. From Interstate 64, use Exit 172 and take KY 1 north of Grayson for 18 miles.
